WORSHIP AT 10:30 A.M.
APRIL 6 LENT V
We will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (Setting IV). The sermon, “Racing” addresses the “why?” and “toward what end?” of our seemingly constant motion. Scriptures are Psalm 126, Isaiah 43:16-21 and Philippians 3:4b-14. We will receive new members, Woodbury Food Bank donations and gifts to the pastor’s discretionary fund. After worship, free blood pressure screenings will be offered in the Assembly Room by Michael Pinevich, R.N.. Our liturgist and communion assistant will be Joann King. Carol Galloway will be our “Testimony” speaker.
APRIL 8 (Tuesday) LENT ON THE ROAD: GATHER, SAVOR, SHARE
6 p.m. Supper, 7 p.m. worship at Woodbury United Methodist Church, co-hosted with North Congregational at our church, 4 Church Street, Woodbury.
APRIL 13 PALM SUNDAY
A traditional procession of palms and triumphant celebration of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem turns reflective in the first-person drama “Just Suppose” from the perspective of the centurion at Calvary in Luke 19:28-40 with Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29, Philippians 2:5-11 and Matthew 27:24, 27-31, 37-46, 50-54. Music by the Bell and Chancel Choirs. Our liturgist will be Sandy Purdy.
APRIL 17, 7 p.m. MAUNDY THURSDAY
“Reflections of Peter” is a first-person drama as Peter reflects on the events leading up to Jesus’ arrest. The scriptures are John 13:1-17 and 21-38 and Luke 22:14-23. Music by the Bell and Chancel Choirs. We will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (spoken).
APRIL 18 GOOD FRIDAY
The Valley Cooperative Parish will host a service at the Naugatuck United Methodist Church, 208 Meadow Street at 7 p.m. A local 7 p.m. Woodbury service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 294 Main Street South, Woodbury.
APRIL 20 THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD, EASTER DAY
Easter Sunrise service will be held at Hollow Park at 7 a.m.
“That’s (Not?) Exactly How This Works!” is the Easter sermon based on I Corinthians 15:19-26; Acts 10:34-43 and Luke 24:1-12. Special music by the Bell and Chancel Choirs and Praise Band. Our liturgist will be Jay Hockenberry.
APRIL 27 THE SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER
Our preacher will be the Rev. Garrett Walkup, preaching “Peace Be With You” based on Luke 24:36-49. Our liturgist will be Esther Lin. Our “Testimony” speaker will be Bob Asman. Pastor Brian and Carol will be visiting her parents in Montreal.
Advance reading of the scriptures is an act of spiritual formation.

Christmas Cafe and Holiday Handbells
On Saturday, December 7, the Woodbury United Methodist Church will host “Christmas Cafe and Holiday Handbells” as part of the Woodbury Townwide Christmas Festival. From 2 to 3:30 PM stop by to enjoy mini-concerts featuring holiday selections offered by Chime In! Music With a Mission in the sanctuary & then head downstairs where dessert & beverages will be available for purchase from 2-4 p.m. Frozen soup-to-go to enjoy during the busy holiday season will be sold.
COMMITMENT / THANKSGIVING SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24
Worship at 10:30 a.m. Special music by our Bell and Chancel Choirs. View the return of an old custom, a harvest-themed chancel. Financial commitments for 2025 dedicated. A sermon on the theme of “truth” entitled “A True and Objective Point of Reference.”
